Dina manages the International Coordination Office (ICO) for the PCAPS project. She helps to ensure PCAPS runs smoothly by facilitating collaboration, communication, and outreach for the project. She also leads the monitoring, evaluation, and learning components of PCAPS, working closely with the PCAPS members and WMO’s WWRP team on these points and more.

Dina holds a PhD in Natural Resources and Sustainability from the University of Alaska Fairbanks (USA), a MSc. in International Development Studies from the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands), and a BA in International Relations from the College of William and Mary (USA). Prior to joining MET Norway, she was an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Science and Technology at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway and the founder and leader of UiT’s Climate Change Adaptation research group. There, she led several NordForsk, Erasmus+, and Norwegian Research Council projects and work packages related to climate change-induced hazards in the Arctic.

Dina’s research is predominantly focused on interdisciplinary topics related to developing scientific information products that support and reflect different user needs, particularly in a polar and cryospheric hazard context.
